Description

As Novaquark’s expert of the written word, you will ensure the quality, unicity of tone, authenticity with our values and timely delivery of most of Novaquark’s outbound written communications. You will play a key role in communicating how awesome our game is, and contribute daily to reinforcing the already strong ties between Novaquark and our community of players. You will spend time crafting efficient and passionate written communications, and stay close to the rest of the Novaquark team to ensure that your words convey the reality of our game. This is an exciting position in which you will be at the heart of spreading the word about a true gaming revolution!

Responsibilities

  • Following a brief from the marketing / communication / community management / support team members, write publicly-facing content for the below channels:
  • Site news and blog posts
  • Newsletters and emails
  • Website copy
  • Video and trailer voice-over scripts
  • Kickstarter updates
  • Support articles
  • Press releases
  • Any other relevant public channel where written communication is required;
  • Conduct the appropriate research, internal interviews and meetings in order to gather the information needed to write the above content;
  • Propose new ideas and topics for the above channels in order to increase the game’s communication cadence while staying on message and on quality;
  • Occasionally, and upon request only, create copy for the game, such as:
  • Loading screen welcome messages
  • In-game descriptions of items, locations, etc.
  • Game lore
  • Any other relevant in-game copy, as requested by the development team
  • Implement the content of the newsletter and emails in the email management platform (Mailchimp), using the existing templates;
  • Proof-read content submitted by other team members upon request, and suggest copy improvements when needed;
  • Support content posting of social media platforms when required.

Requirements

  • Fluent in English (native language); other languages are an asset;
  • A true mastery of the written word in English, with flawless writing skills, including perfect grammar and spelling;
  • Being able to phrase the same idea in different ways, and to be concise and straight to the point when needed;
  • An ability to understand the concepts of target audiences, messaging and hierarchy of information, and to apply them to your writing;
  • Be a gamer at heart; understand video games and video game communities; have a genuine interest in Dual Universe;
  • Good interpersonal skills, and an ability to have in-depth conversations about game features with game developers;
  • Ideally, a relevant degree in English Literature, Communications, Business, Journalism or Translation;
  • Bonus: experience writing emails, blog posts, press releases; experience working on video games; passion for MMOs.
